A set of masking templates for a model of the Italian CANT Z.506 Airone floatplane in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CANT Z.506 Airone is an Italian three-engine floatplane of the 1930s. It served for patrol and reconnaissance over the sea and for searching for the crews of downed machines, work for which the large floats and the long endurance suited it better than a land-based aircraft. The pair of massive floats and the extensive glazed cockpit make it a model on which masking the glazing is an appreciable part of the work.
Masking templates for a model of the CANT Z.506 Airone in 1:72 scale. The pieces are shaped to the individual areas of glazing, so there is no cutting strips of adhesive tape and no tracing round the frames of the glazing by hand. The extent of the set, that is which areas are covered, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The templates are laid onto clean and degreased glazing before spraying, not after the paint has dried. Transfer each piece with tweezers, seat it exactly in the frame and press it down with a soft stick, so that the edge sits along its whole length; wherever the paint runs under, a blurred edge appears. It pays to spray a thin coat of the base color first, which seals the edge of the mask, and only then the covering shade. Take the masks off while the paint has only just dried, carefully and at a sharp angle.
The kit of the aircraft, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
