This kit in 1:72 scale captures the military version of the light single-engine Cessna of the 180 Skywagon line. Behind the model stands Kovozavody Prostejov, a traditional Czech maker of plastic kits with a long history in the field. The model is supplied as a set of plastic parts to be assembled and painted.
The Cessna 180 Skywagon is a single-engine high-wing monoplane with a piston engine, a strut-braced wing and fixed landing gear with a tailwheel. The design is deliberately simple and rugged, with good takeoff and landing characteristics on short and unpaved strips. That is exactly why the machines of this family found a use in military service as well, for liaison, observation and light transport tasks. In military programs the Skywagon machines were delivered under the U-17 designation and served with a number of foreign users.
Nip the parts off with cutters and sand away the gate remnants so that they seat cleanly. Glue with liquid cement for plastic drawn into the seam by capillary action. The cabin glazing is very visible on a high-wing monoplane, so it pays to mask the canopy and spray the frames step by step. Apply a primer before painting: it evens out the base and reveals small flaws in the seams. Spray gloss varnish under the decals and, once dry, take the surface back to matte according to the finish you want. Bring out the panel lines and the control surfaces with a fine removable wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
