CH-21 Shawnee wheels (weighted), 1:72 is a resin detail set from Armory with exact landing gear wheels and simulated tire loading for a model of this tandem helicopter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set in 1:72 from Armory. It is not a helicopter kit but a set of replacement landing gear wheels for a model of the Piasecki CH-21 Shawnee transport helicopter, nicknamed the Flying Banana. The tires are weighted, with a flattened lower part, as if the weight of a standing machine rested on them. The castings replace the plastic parts of the matching kit.
The Piasecki CH-21 Shawnee was a twin-rotor transport helicopter with its rotors in tandem and a strikingly curved fuselage, which earned it the nickname Flying Banana. It served in the 1950s and 1960s on transport and rescue duties. Faithfully rendered landing gear wheels underline the character of this machine.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and clean them up with your airways protected; glue resin with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Bring the tires together in a flat dark gray and bring out the tread; finish the hubs to suit the machine and add fine service grime.
This resin detail add-on is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
