A coffin in 1:72 scale is a scenic accessory for a diorama, not a vehicle kit and not a figure. It will complete civilian and historical views in which a scene is meant to have a clear story.

A prop in its own right for a scene in 1:72 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft and cannot be built as an exhibit on its own: it is an element that is added to a diorama already under way and gives it a definite content. The 1:72 scale is the scale in which a whole view including its surroundings fits onto a small base.
It comes into its own in civilian and historical views: a village green, a city street, a churchyard, a rear area away from the fighting line. In a scene it works as an anchor that the placing of the figures and the direction of their gaze relate to. The subject calls for a sparing treatment: the fewer other props around it, the more readable the view stays.
Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let it dry through; settled dust and grease tend to be the most common cause of poor paint adhesion. Then comes a thin base, and only after it the shade of wood or finish. In 1:72 scale this is a very small part. Work with tweezers and in good light, thin the paint and build the tone up in thin coats. An overdone wash would at this size drown the detail instead of picking it out. Set the accessory onto the base so that it sits down across its whole area; a gap underneath gives a part stuck on afterwards away at once.
