1:72 Consolidated B-24H Liberator LööK is a set from Eduard's LööK range that replaces the instrument panel of a B-24H bomber model in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LööK range rests on a single idea: to offer a finished instrument panel that is dropped into the cockpit in place of the kit part, doing away with the drawn-out painting of individual dials. In the small 1:72 scale that is real help, because the dial faces are the size of a dot and are painted by hand only with great difficulty. The set is an accessory for building a model of the bomber; the aircraft itself is not in the package.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was the most numerously built American bomber of the Second World War. Its high-set slender wing gave it a range no other four-engine machine of the day had, which is why it found use over Europe, in the Pacific and over the Atlantic on patrol flights. The B-24H version brought above all the nose turret the earlier machines had lacked, closing the dangerous zone directly ahead of the bomber. The cabin was crowded with instruments, so the instrument panel is clearly visible on a model.
Before dropping it in, check that the opening in the cockpit matches the shape of the part and sand away any overhanging plastic carefully. The panel is seated only after the surrounding interior has been painted, and it is fixed with a small drop of cyanoacrylate away from the visible surface. Close the fuselage up only when everything is in its place.
