Eduard 1:72 Consolidated B-24H Liberator nose and radio compartment is a full photo-etched set for the nose section and the radio operator's station in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This full Eduard photo-etched set covers the nose section and the radio operator's compartment of the B-24H bomber in 1:72 scale. The glazed nose of the Liberator gives an excellent view into the fuselage, so the investment in fine photo-etched detail in this part of the model really does pay off. The set serves as an extension of a plastic kit and does not contain the model itself.
It was on the B-24H that the Liberator first received a production powered nose turret, which markedly strengthened its defense against head-on fighter attacks. Below the turret worked the bombardier with his sight, and a little further back, behind the flight deck, the radio operator had his station with the radio sets. The densely packed nose is one of the most interesting parts of the whole aircraft for a modeler.
Assemble and paint the interior units before the fuselage halves are closed; once they are glued, the glazing is out of reach. Bend the photo-etch over a straight edge, fix the joints with thin cyanoacrylate drawn in by capillary action and remove any excess at once. Finally, bring out selected details with light drybrushing.
Prepare and mask the clear nose parts in advance so that no fingerprints show through them once the interior is finished. The frame of the gun turret is best painted on its own and fitted right at the end.
