Self-adhesive masks from the maker Montex, cut precisely for the kit of the Curtiss H-75 fighter in 1:72 scale. The framing of the canopy is fine in this scale and every inaccuracy shows - masks secure straight lines and a uniform width of the frames with no lengthy work with a brush.
The Curtiss H-75 was the export variant of the American P-36 Hawk fighter, an all-metal low-wing monoplane with a radial engine and a retractable undercarriage from the second half of the 1930s. It achieved its greatest renown in the service of the French Air Force: in the opening months of the Second World War the French Hawks were among the most active fighters of the campaign and credited themselves with a considerable number of victories. After the fall of France the machines served on both sides of the conflict, and in various hands the type appeared on battlefields from Europe to Asia. For modelers the H-75 offers a varied palette of camouflage schemes and an interesting story.
Degrease the canopy, seat the pieces of the masks with tweezers and line them up along the frames. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that the paint is not drawn underneath, spray light layers and take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried. A layer of the interior color underneath will secure the right look for the frames from inside the cabin.
This is a modeling accessory - the kit of the aircraft itself is not included in the package.
