Zebrano offers the Italian tankette as the cast kit 1:72 C.V.35 Italian Tankette. The small vehicle is a rewarding accessory for scenes from the Mediterranean and from the eastern front alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject has been worked by the Belarusian brand Zebrano as a resin kit for advanced builders. The vehicle is small enough to be finished over a few evenings, and yet in a diorama it gives away at once what battlefield the scene is set on.
The firms Fiat and Ansaldo derived the design from the British tankette Carden-Loyd Mk.VI. The crew of two sat side by side in a hull barely a meter thirty high, the weight was kept around three and a half tons and the armor protected at most against bullets from small arms. The armament was made up of twin machine guns of 8 mm caliber, on later vehicles of a different type. From 1938 the machine was kept as the light tank L3/35. It fought in Ethiopia, in Spain, in North Africa, in the Balkans and in Russia, where it already had nothing to offer against armor.
Rid the parts of grease in a lukewarm bath with detergent and let them dry out properly. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw as far from the part as possible and sand the remainder down, best wet and with respiratory protection. The joints are held by cyanoacrylate, and plastic cement does not work here. Italian gray-green and the later sand camouflage alike stand out after a base coat and drybrushing on the edges of the tracks.
It is sold as a set of parts, without a coat of paint, paints or glue.
