This item from MH models is not a kit of an aircraft but a detail set with which you replace the wheels from a plastic kit on a model. A resin casting captures the division of the rim and the structure of the tire more sharply than an injection mold can, and on a model standing on its landing gear this is a detail right at the viewer's eye level. Sets of this kind are cast to suit a particular kit, so before the build it pays to try fitting a wheel onto the landing gear leg and to adjust the diameter of the stub if necessary. The hub attachment is based on the Modelsvit kit.
The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a French single-engine fighter with a delta wing, powered by a SNECMA M53 turbojet. It appeared in several versions for air combat and for attacks on ground targets, and besides the French Air Force a number of further operators flew it. The landing gear is of tricycle layout, the nose leg has two wheels and the main legs carry one wheel each; all the wheels are clearly open to view on a model.
First wash the resin castings in warm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and finish the surface with abrasive paper used wet; resin dust is not to be breathed in, so use breathing protection. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate glue. After the primer, spray the tires in dark gray and separate the rims with masking tape - on modern machines the rims tend to be markedly lighter than the tire, so the contrast shows clearly. A faint touch of dust pigment on the tread completes the impression of an aircraft in service.
This is an accessory to a kit, not a stand-alone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
