AML 1:72 de Havilland Mosquito, Seat Belts is a small photo-etched set of harness belts for the cockpit of the British multirole aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This small photo-etched set by AML gives the cockpit of the famous British Mosquito in 1:72 scale an item that most kits only suggest: the harness belts of both crew members. Even in a small scale it is a detail that is clearly visible under the large canopy. The set serves as an accessory for a kit of this type, and the aircraft model itself is not included in the package.
The de Havilland Mosquito, nicknamed the wooden wonder, was a British twin-engine multirole aircraft built of plywood and balsa. Two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines gave it a speed that enemy fighters long could not match, and the type handled the roles of fast bomber, reconnaissance machine and night fighter. The pilot and the navigator sat side by side in a cramped cockpit, and that is exactly where new belts stand out most.
With photo-etch in a small scale, clean work decides everything: use a new blade, fine tweezers and a magnifier. Bend the belts slightly before seating them so that they follow the shape of the seat, and fix them with a minimal drop of cyanoacrylate glue. They can be painted with a brush after a fine base coat that gives the paint something to hold on to on the metal.
Look at the seats in your kit first: a number of Mosquito models have solid seat backs, so you will run the belt only over the cushion and over the top edge of the back.
