A cut self-adhesive masking set for the British de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth training biplane in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Peewit. It is not an airplane model but a set of precisely cut masks in fine masking tape, which make a clean coat on the frames of the glazing, the windows and other surfaces easier, with no laborious cutting of tape by hand.
The Tiger Moth was a light training biplane of mixed construction from the 1930s that became the standard elementary trainer of the Royal Air Force and of the Commonwealth air forces during the Second World War. It was powered by a de Havilland Gipsy Major inline engine, and thanks to its undemanding and forgiving behavior thousands of pilots went through training on it. The open cockpits, the characteristic strutted structure and the fixed landing gear make the model a rewarding subject, on which clean masking of the small parts pays off.
Transfer the masks onto a perfectly clean, degreased surface, seat them precisely and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a burnisher so that paint cannot seep under them. Spray the interior shade first, then, once it is dry, the exterior color if needed, and lift the masks before the paint has hardened completely. Any adhesive residue can be removed by moistening it gently.
The set contains self-adhesive masks; it is not a model and not a kit. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
