What the set contains

The set contains two dromedaries, that is, one-humped camels, in 1:72 scale. The number of pieces is given by the name itself; how the animals are divided into parts and in which stances they are rendered is described in the maker's instructions. In this scale a camel suits anywhere a scene is meant to look like North Africa, the Middle East or a desert battlefield.

How to work with the figures

Wash the parts before painting and let them dry out, as paint holds badly on a greasy surface. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; where cement for polystyrene has no effect, reach for cyanoacrylate. Dry fit the joint between the neck, the body and the legs until the stance is right; only then glue it permanently.

Painting tips

• Paint the coat a base sand or brown tone and let it dry thoroughly.
• Lighten the back and the hump by a shade with a tone laid on with an almost dry brush.
• A darker glaze in the folds of the neck and on the belly gives the shapes depth.
• Finish the eyes, nostrils and feet with a thin brush at the very end.
• Paint the harness and the load separately, if the set contains them, and attach them only once dry.
