Masking set 1:72 for the cockpit glazing of the Ermolaev Er-2 is meant for airbrush work. It is an accessory for painting a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pre-cut masking set for covering the glazing of a model of this long-range bomber in 1:72 scale. The set is made straight to the shape of the clear parts, so masking the frames comes down to seating each piece and pressing it home, with no measuring, marking out or cutting tape with a knife on the model itself. The words airbrush mask in the name say what the set is primarily built for: an even coat from an airbrush, where a sharp, tight edge is essential. It is not a kit and not a finished model, but an accessory used at the painting stage.
The Ermolaev Er-2 was a Soviet twin-engine long-range bomber of the Second World War. It grew out of the design of a fast transport aircraft and kept its distinctive inverted gull wing as a recognition feature. Its glazing is intricate, with a glazed nose and a separate pilot's canopy, so masking by hand tends to be tediously slow here and an accurately pre-cut set saves noticeable time.
Wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them air dry; grease from your fingers is the most common cause of paint running under. Transfer the mask with tweezers, line it up dry against the engraved frame and only then press it home. In 1:72 scale the pieces are small, so take a toothpick to the edges and run it right around. Spray thinly and rather in two goes; the first thin coat in the frame color seals the edge, the second gives the coverage. Remove the mask as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
The mask set is an accessory for painting a model. The model, paints and thinners are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
