1:72 Exocet missile (2 PCS) is a resin external stores accessory, a pair of Exocet anti-ship missiles in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model, but parts to fit to a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from the Reskit brand contains, as its name says, two Exocet anti-ship missiles sized for 1:72 scale. It is not a kit, but armament that the modeler hangs under the wing or the fuselage of an aircraft already built. In the smaller scale the difference between a plastic and a resin part shows mainly in the crispness of the fins and tail surfaces. Thin surfaces are hard to mold in injection-molded plastic and tend to be needlessly thick in 1:72 scale, while resin keeps them slender.
The Exocet is a French anti-ship guided missile designed to fly just above the surface. It exists in versions for launch from surface ships, from submarines and from aircraft, and the air-launched version was typical armament for naval strike machines. The missile has a cylindrical body with wings and tail surfaces in a cruciform layout, and it approaches the target at low altitude, which makes it harder to detect in time.
In 1:72 scale work with particular care, as the parts are small and easily lost. Cut them over a surface with a raised edge. Use a saw, or a very sharp scalpel, to separate them from the casting block, and never break them off. Fine paper is enough for sanding, but take material off a little at a time, because in this scale a few strokes too many will thin the shape of the missile. Wash the set in lukewarm water with dish soap, apply a primer and glue with super glue. Spray the paint heavily thinned, as a thick coat would fill the transitions between the body and the surfaces in this scale.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
