F-35A SPACE 1:72 (Eduard)

SPACE is a detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard that combines 3D decals with color steel photo-etch. For the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II fighter in 1:72 scale it brings a three-dimensional instrument panel, side panels and seat belts. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for raising the level of detail in the cockpit.

What the set contains and how to use it

• 3D decals of the instruments with three-dimensional relief, printed on a backing paper
• Color steel photo-etch including seat belts
• The elements are pre-printed, so painting the instruments is unnecessary

Application tips

Given the small scale, work with tweezers and good lighting. Moisten the backing paper of the 3D decal with a sponge and a drop of dish soap, lift the element and settle it on a drop of PVA glue (white glue); it has no adhesive layer of its own, and a decal softener would attack its printed resin. Bend the photo-etched parts over an edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The panels stand out over a darker base.
