1:72 F-35C Lightning II USN/USMC Collection

Xtradecal F-35C Lightning II USN/USMC Collection 1:72

A waterslide decal sheet from Xtradecal in 1:72 scale devoted to the Lockheed Martin F-35C Lightning II carrier stealth fighter in the colors of the US Navy (USN) and the Marine Corps (USMC). It is not a kit but a set of markings for building after a particular unit and aircraft.

The real subject

The F-35C is the version of the fifth-generation F-35 fighter meant for operating from aircraft carriers. It is set apart from the land-based variants by a larger wing area, strengthened landing gear and an arrestor hook for landing on a deck. It forms the modern backbone of the US Navy's carrier strike aviation.

Use

• Applying the markings to a finished and painted F-35C model.
• The decals go on from water onto a gloss base coat and are sealed with a flat varnish once dry.
• With low-visibility markings, take care to settle them finely into the engraving with softeners.

Who it is for

For modelers interested in present-day American carrier aviation who build the F-35C in 1:72 scale and want different or more varied markings from those in the base kit.

This is an accessory (waterslide decals), not a model. It calls for a finished base model, paints and varnishes, which are not included in the package.
