The open hull of the American howitzer is dealt with by 1:35 M7 Priest - Part 1, the first of three photo-etched frets.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the American M7 self-propelled howitzer. The open hull of this vehicle is visible from every side on a model, so the thickness of the plastic shows there most of all; metal sheet, mesh grilles and brackets take the coarseness out of it. The fret is marked as the first of three that the brand offers for this subject.
The vehicle came about in 1942 by rebuilding the chassis of the M3 medium tank into a carrier for the 105 mm M2A1 howitzer. The tall cylindrical ring mount for the anti-aircraft machine gun on the right side of the hull reminded British soldiers of a pulpit, and from that the nickname Priest took hold. The vehicle made its debut at El Alamein in the autumn of 1942 in the ranks of the British 8th Army, and it quickly became clear that a mobile howitzer could support an attack continuously rather than only from a firing position prepared in advance.
Paint the inside of the hull and the ammunition racks before the side plates are fitted, otherwise you will reach the corners with neither a brush nor an airbrush. A light interior shade works better once a dark wash and a light dry brush have been worked into it after it has dried. Before any of that, the metal parts have to be degreased.
Count on buying the kit and the painting materials to go with the set.
