A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard holding the boarding ladder for models of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter in 1:72 scale. On the Phantom the ladder was hooked onto the side of the fuselage and allowed the crew to climb into the cockpit. The set gives a model this conspicuous ground detail, which plastic kits often do not include. It is not an aircraft model but a detailing accessory; the base kit has to be bought separately.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was an American two-seat supersonic fighter and multi-role aircraft that became an icon of Cold War aviation. It served with the air forces and navies of many countries. The boarding ladder is a typical feature of scenes of an aircraft on the flight line and adds fidelity to a diorama.
Nip the parts carefully out of the fret and bend them on a hard surface with a blade or a bending tool. They are bonded with super glue. We recommend painting the set with an airbrush following the real thing. Work with tweezers and good light, as the parts are small.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
