A resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but replacement exhaust nozzles meant to improve plastic kits of the McDonnell Douglas Phantom II in the F-4E, EJ, F, G, J and S versions. The casting captures the fine structure of the petals of both nozzles. The set is meant for experienced modelers.
The F-4 Phantom II is a two-seat, twin-engine fighter that became one of the most widespread combat aircraft of its era. The versions listed are the later forms with their characteristic nozzles, whose faithful rendering matters on a model. The nozzles open and close with the thrust setting of the engines.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand with your airways protected. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Lay down a primer, spray the metallic shades with an airbrush and bring out the heat discoloration of the petals with washes and tinting coats.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled, without the target kit, glue or paints.
