This set of printed decals deals with the interior of a machine that came about through a thorough upgrade of older Phantoms. Instead of layering paint and dry-brushing, you work with a finished print whose surface is raised and already finished in color. The set is intended for Fine Molds kits.
In the second half of the 1970s, naval Phantoms built earlier went through a program that strengthened their structure and replaced part of their equipment. The result was the F-4N designation and further years of service, mainly with Marine Corps squadrons. The machines lasted into the 1980s and some ended their days as target drones. It is precisely because of the upgraded equipment that their cockpit differs from the original. More than two hundred airframes went through the conversion, so you will meet the designation in period photographs from the decks as well.
It pays off to work in sections and let each part dry before you start the next. A damp brush helps settle the motif, and excess water is wiped away with the edge of a paper towel. Once everything is dry, seal the surface with a thin coat of varnish to the sheen you want.
This is cockpit equipment; the airframe of the aircraft is to be obtained separately.
