A set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in 1:72 scale for a model of the American Vought F-8E Crusader carrier-based fighter. The masks are die-cut from kabuki masking tape and serve for clean spraying of the cockpit glazing and the edges of the wheels. It is not a kit but a masking accessory.
The F-8 Crusader was an American supersonic carrier-based fighter of the US Navy and the US Marine Corps. It was notable for an unusual variable-incidence wing, which lifted on takeoff and landing. The E version was a multirole variant able to carry air-to-ground armament as well, and it made its name in the fighting over Vietnam.
Stick the mask onto degreased glazing, press it against the frames with a toothpick and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. Do not stretch the masks while applying them, so that they fit exactly. In 1:72 scale they make crisp framing of the small cockpit frames easier and save time compared with a brush by hand.
This is an accessory (painting masks), not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
