An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is the Easy Assembly form with a reduced parts count and large, easily fitted sections. The box contains clear plastic for the cockpit glazing and decals. The model is ideal as a quick and carefree building project.
The F4F-4 was the most widespread carrier version of the Wildcat during the fighting in the Pacific. Compared with the earlier F4F-3 it received folding wings, which saved space below deck on aircraft carriers, and heavier armament of six heavy machine guns. Wildcats in this form carried the main weight of the carrier battles at Midway and over Guadalcanal.
Use liquid cement for plastic; thanks to the large parts the build goes quickly. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paints down with an airbrush or a brush. The three-tone camouflage (three shades of blue and gray) is typical for Pacific schemes; a restrained emphasis of the panel lines will give the model more depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
