A pre-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the American Vought F4U-1A Corsair carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a model, but a set of pre-cut masks that make it easier to paint the framing of the glazed cockpit and other details.

The real subject

The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War, easily recognized by its inverted gull wing. In the F4U-1A version it received a raised seat and a revised cockpit canopy for a better view. It served with the Navy and the Marines, above all in the Pacific.

Use

• Separate the individual masks from the sheet and stick them precisely onto the glazing frames.
• Press the edges of the masks down thoroughly with a stick or a toothpick, so that paint cannot bleed underneath.
• Spray the areas with an airbrush or paint them with a brush, and take the masks off carefully once they are dry.
• Make use of the masks for the wheel rims and other small curved areas as well, where straight tape is hard to shape.
