This is an Aires resin detail set, not an airplane model. The set replaces the cockpit interior of the Grumman F6F Hellcat carrier fighter in the F6F-3 and F6F-5 versions with more accurate castings: the cockpit tub, the instrument panel, the seat and the controls. It suits an open cockpit on a kit in 1:72 scale.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American single-engine carrier fighter of the Second World War, powered by a radial engine. The F6F-3 and F6F-5 versions were among the most widespread and differed in equipment and detail. The rugged machine was the backbone of carrier fighter aviation in the Pacific.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand with your airways protected. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The interior usually calls for the shade used on American carrier aircraft; the instruments and the harnesses come out after a dry brush and a fine wash.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue, paints and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
