The set holds a resin radome, that is the cover over the radar antenna, for a model of the American Grumman F6F Hellcat carrier-based fighter in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket accessory from Quickboost (Aires) that replaces the part of the kit with a casting of more accurate shape. It is not an airplane model but a detail set that corrects the shape of this area.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a single-seat carrier-based fighter with a radial engine, flown during the Second World War. The radar-equipped night and reconnaissance versions carried a characteristic aerodynamic antenna cover on the wing. A radome of faithful shape sharpens the silhouette of a machine fitted out this way.
Wash the resin part to remove the release agent, separate it from the casting block and dry-fit it in place. Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When sanding and cutting resin, protect your airways and work in a well-ventilated area.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
