A plastic kit of the F9F-2P Panther in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss – the photo-reconnaissance version of the American carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the carrier-borne jet aircraft F9F-2P Panther in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The letter P in the designation stands for the photo-reconnaissance variant, with an unarmed nose adapted for cameras. The kit has engraved panel lines, a well detailed cockpit and clear canopy parts. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Grumman F9F Panther was one of the first successful carrier-borne jet fighters of the US Navy and left a strong mark on the fighting of the Korean War. The photo-reconnaissance version F9F-2P had reconnaissance cameras installed in the nose in place of the cannon armament and served for photographic reconnaissance of the battlefield. It was marked out by its straight wing with wingtip tanks and by reliable subsonic performance. It operated from the decks of aircraft carriers.
Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage; on the photo-reconnaissance version pay attention to the shape of the nose with the camera windows. Fill and sand the joints of the intake and the fuselage. Base it over a primer; the typical glossy dark blue naval finish (Glossy Sea Blue) comes out well over a smooth gloss base. Add the wingtip tanks and the landing gear only after the base coat, and lay the decals on gloss to keep them from silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
