Replacement exhaust nozzle parts for a model of the American F-22A Raptor fighter in 1:72 scale. They replace the nozzles from the kit, that is, the part a viewer has directly in front of his eyes when looking at the model from behind, and the part where thick walls and a coarse surface show the most on the piece out of the box.
The Raptor is a twin-engine fighter designed with low observability in mind, and the rear end is subordinated to that. The nozzles do not have the usual circular shape: they are flat, rectangular in cross-section, formed by a pair of moving surfaces that can deflect the stream of gases up and down. The aircraft thereby gains extra control in maneuvers that the rudder alone cannot give. It is precisely this shape that makes the rear end of the Raptor unmistakable.
First try the parts dry on the rear end of the model and only then glue them, so that both nozzles meet the outline of the fuselage at the same height and are deflected to the same degree. Cut off excess material with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. The parts are not polystyrene, cement for polystyrene has no effect on them, use super glue. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Paint the inside of the nozzles before you seat them, because later a brush will no longer reach in.
Replacement nozzle parts are supplied as listed for this item. The kit, paints, decals and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
