This accessory opens up one of the most interesting forms of the famous fighter. The A-8 version in the R11 fit was reworked for use in darkness and bad weather, and you recognize it at first glance by the rod aerials projecting from the wing and the fuselage. The package holds parts to be worked into a plastic kit; it is not a model of the aircraft in its own right.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8 was the high point of the radial-engined series with the BMW 801 engine. The equipment fit designated R11 turned it into a machine able to operate outside daylight hours. It included anti-icing and navigation equipment and above all the FuG 217 Neptun radar in the J-2 form, which showed the pilot the rough bearing and distance of a target. Such machines served with the night fighter units at the close of the war, when the Luftwaffe lacked anything better.
The rod aerials are thin and will not stand rough handling. Fit them right at the end, after the painting and after the decals have gone on, or you will knock them off while handling the model. Pre-drill the holes for the stems with the finest drill you have. A model with that fit stands out in a dark night camouflage scheme, against which the thin stems show up nicely in a display case.
