The 1:72 Fouga CM-170 Magister Over Europe Pt.II plastic kit from Kovozavody Prostejov captures the French two-seat jet trainer in European service.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French two-seat Fouga Magister jet trainer in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov. The edition subtitled Over Europe Pt.II follows on from earlier boxings of the same type and is aimed at the European operators of the machine.
The Magister is usually described as the first jet trainer to reach series production as a machine designed for that role from the start. It is powered by two small Turbomeca Marbore jet engines set in the wing roots, and its unmistakable recognition feature is the butterfly V-tail. It first flew at the beginning of the 1950s and spread to dozens of countries, where it served in basic and advanced training and, with some air arms, also as a light attack and reconnaissance machine. In European armed forces it stayed in active service for decades and became known in part through its use by display teams.
The glazing of the long two-seat canopy is very much on show on this type, so it pays off to finish the cockpit in detail and to mask the canopy with precisely cut masks. Glue the butterfly tail on both sides at once, following the angle, so that it stays symmetrical. Trainers often carry strong orange or red bands, which need a white undercoat beneath them, otherwise they show through. Lay the decals onto gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
