FV4101 Charioteer Mk.VIIB in Finnish service is a kit of the British tracked gun carrier in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand IBG models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polish brand IBG models has worked the British Charioteer up in the form the vehicle received after being sold to Finland. The box belongs to a wider series in which the British versions of the same type also came out, so a collector can build the whole family of one machine side by side and compare the differences in their forms.
The Charioteer came about in the postwar years by converting the hull of the Cromwell medium tank. Into the new, only lightly armored turret for a crew of two went a long gun of 83.4 mm caliber, known as the twenty-pounder. An aging machine thus became a fast carrier of a powerful weapon. The British assigned it mainly to reserve units, and part of the production later reached foreign users. The Finnish army operated the vehicles for a long time after taking them over.
At a small scale it is cleanliness of work that decides: fill the seams on the hull and sand them back with fine paper, or they will show under flat paint. Finish and shade the running gear and the tracks before you close the hull up. Finnish vehicles are rewarding to paint, because they offer multi-color camouflage with soft transitions sprayed with an airbrush. Keep the dirt moderate, so that a small vehicle does not come across as a lump of mud.
The kit is sold unassembled and without a finish; buy the glue and the paints separately.
