Fw 190D-9 1:72 - an Eduard masking set contains pre-cut kabuki paper masks for spraying the frames of the canopy glazing. It is neither a kit nor decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of the aircraft but a masking set in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The masks are pre-cut from kabuki paper, a thin Japanese masking material with a mild adhesive that can be shaped on curved surfaces as well and leaves no sticky residue once removed. The set saves time at exactly the step most modelers put off: spraying the canopy frames accurately.
Masks cut by hand from adhesive tape are hard to get right in a small scale and paint likes to creep under them. Pre-cut masks have the shape matching the particular glazing, so it is enough to pop them out of the sheet and seat them. The result is sharp frames of even width, which on small models decide the overall impression more than the finest patina.
It suits modelers who build small models and want clean glazing without the torment of a scalpel, and beginners as well, for whom masking most often spoils the result. It presupposes a model of the matching subject in 1:72 scale.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check beforehand that the set matches the kit you are building.
