The plastic kit Hobby Boss Kanonen- und Flakwagen BP-42 (1:72): the gun and anti-aircraft car of a German armored train of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the gun and anti-aircraft car from a German armored train of the BP-42 type in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is not a tank but an armored railway car, so the package also contains sections of track for standing the model on. The car carries a gun as well as anti-aircraft armament.
The BP-42 was one of the standardized types of German armored train committed to action during the Second World War, above all to protect rear areas and railway lines. The formation was symmetrical: ahead of and behind the armored locomotive in the middle of the train there were identical groups of cars. The gun and anti-aircraft car (Kanonen- und Flakwagen) combined a gun for firing at ground targets with anti-aircraft armament, typically a four-barrel 2 cm gun, so that the train could face targets on the ground and in the air alike.
Assemble and paint the bogies of the car, the wheelsets and the armament in subassemblies before you close up the body. Paint the track separately. A primer, an airbrush and German camouflage schemes all work well; leave the gun and the four-barrel flak movable if the parts allow it. Bring out the details with a wash into the joints and the edges with a dry brush, and weather the wheels, the track and the underside of the car with pigments (rust, dust, grease).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
