A decal set from the Czech manufacturer AML for models of the British Gloster Gladiator fighter in 1:72 scale. The Gladiator is popular among modelers as an elegant full stop to the era of biplanes, and the alternative markings from this sheet let you build an aircraft in a less known form than the boxed decals offer.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last biplane fighter of the Royal Air Force. Despite its outdated concept it offered an enclosed cockpit, four machine guns and excellent agility. It went into action in Norway, over Malta and in the Middle East, and it also made its name in Finnish colors during the Winter War. For many air forces it marked the transition between the era of fabric and modern monoplanes.
On a biplane, work with the decals only after the airframe has been assembled and the bracing wires tensioned, but still before the final flatting: there is little room between the wings, so transfer the subjects with tweezers and a fine brush. Settle the smaller roundels on the upper wing against measured marks so that they sit symmetrically in relation to the struts.
This is a stand-alone decal set; the kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
