SBS Model 1:72 Gloster Gladiator Mk.I/Mk.II - exterior photo-etched set adds to a model of the British biplane the fine external details that injection-molded plastic cannot capture.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Hungarian maker SBS Model focused on the external detailing of a Gloster Gladiator model in both the Mk.I and Mk.II versions in 1:72 scale. Thin etched sheet allows fine surface features of the airframe to be rendered in thicknesses beyond the reach of injection-molded plastic, and so it visibly lifts the level of the finished model.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last biplane fighter of the RAF. It entered service in the second half of the 1930s and, despite the arrival of monoplanes, won its place in history over Norway, Malta, Greece and North Africa, where a number of other air forces operated it.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them with tweezers with smooth jaws, ideally with a bender. Glue with a small amount of super glue applied with a pin. Degrease the etch and prime it before painting so that the paint holds reliably on the edges too. Shape the larger parts to the curvature of the airframe before gluing, over a suitable cylindrical object such as a brush handle; fit the finest handles and eyelets only after the main painting, so that coats of paint do not drown them.
This is an accessory set - the aircraft model is not included in the package.
