The Avenger was a rugged carrier torpedo bomber of the US Navy that became one of the most successful machines of its category in the Pacific. The TBM designation means that it was license production of the original Grumman design at the Eastern Aircraft division of General Motors. The TBM-3 version was the last mass-production modification, introduced in 1944. A crew of three, an internal bomb bay for a torpedo or bombs and a dorsal turret were among its characteristic features; the machine was powered by a powerful radial engine.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue the joints with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the cockpit interior and the turret before closing the fuselage. Decide on folded or spread wings before gluing. Naval aircraft wore a three-color blue-gray camouflage - after the gloss clear coat and the decals, pick the panel lines out with a wash and add subtle wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
