A set of painting masks for the glazing and the wheel hubs of the Handley Page Victor B.2 bomber in 1:72 scale. The glazing masks are intended for the outer side and are cut for the Airfix kit number 12008.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Handley Page Victor was a British strategic bomber, one of the three types of the so-called V bomber force. The B.2 version can be told by its crescent wing with a cranked leading edge, by the horizontal tail set on top of the fin and by the engines built into the wing roots. The glazing of the pilot's station is small against the bulky fuselage, and all the more visible on a finished model is how precisely the frames are sprayed.
The masks are cut to fit the Airfix kit number 12008 in 1:72 scale. They cover the frames of the glazing and the wheel hubs, so the color of the hub can be separated from the rubber of the tire without outlining by hand with a brush. With the glazing it is masking from the outer side; the inner side of the cockpit gets no masks, so allow for that if you want to finish the frames visually from inside as well.
The masks are stuck on before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface. Press the edges down with a toothpick or the blunt tip of tweezers, so that the paint does not seep under them, and spray in several light coats. Peel them off rather soon after the paint has dried and by pulling at an angle to the side, not straight up.
The set will be appreciated by builders who want sharp color transitions without lengthy masking with tape. The package contains masks only. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
