This is a resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the exhaust nozzles on a plastic kit of the British Harrier GR.5/7. Resin allows a fine rendering of the shape and structure of the vectoring nozzles, which are fundamental to this type.
The Harrier GR.5 and GR.7 are versions of the second-generation vertical take-off and landing aircraft used by the Royal Air Force. The powerplant directs its thrust through four rotating nozzles, which allow vertical take-off and hovering. It is precisely these prominent nozzles that the set refines in 1:72 scale.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The nozzles are best painted separately in metallic and heat-stained shades and only then fitted to the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
