This resin accessory from Quickboost brings precisely cast antennas for a model of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit, but a small replacement part that swaps the thicker, easily damaged plastic antennas from the box for more slender and more faithful castings.

What the part is for

The Hawker Hurricane was a British fighter that, together with the Spitfire, bore the main weight of the defense during the Battle of Britain. The aerial mast and the small antennas on the fuselage spine and the fin are unobtrusive elements on a model, but conspicuous from close up. Made of thin plastic they break off easily and tend to be coarse in shape; fine resin castings have faithful proportions and stand up to handling better.

Usage tips

First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove mold release residue. Separate the small antennas carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife and clean them up with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and work with tweezers. Fit the antennas at the end of the build so that they do not break off during further work.
