This resin accessory of the Quickboost brand brings a precisely cast de Havilland type propeller for a model of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter in 1:72 scale, including a jig for assembling and setting the blades correctly. It is not a kit but a replacement part that takes the place of the propeller from the box with a more faithful casting with the correct blade profile and shape.
The propeller is a visually dominant feature of the nose of a model. A number of Hurricanes carried the variable-pitch de Havilland propeller, whose blades had a characteristic profile and tip shape. Precisely cast blades with the correct angle read more realistically than the parts from the box; the enclosed jig makes it easier to set them all alike, so that the propeller sits symmetrically and without wobble.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove any mold release residue. Carefully cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Seat the blades in the hub according to the enclosed jig and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Pick out the leading edges and the blade tips while painting.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
