It replaces the plastic main landing gear wheels with parts carrying a sharper rendering of the rim and the sidewall. It is not an aircraft model, but a set of parts for a plastic kit you have already bought.
A plastic wheel in a kit is as a rule split, and a mold seam runs across the tread of the tire. Sanding it away means losing the pattern, which the modeler then laboriously restores. With a replacement wheel from an accessory set that step falls away, and at the same time it offers cleaner detail on the rim. In 1:72 scale it is a part that stands right at eye level on a displayed model, so the improvement pays off.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter of mixed construction, with a tubular fuselage frame and fabric covering on the rear section. It was powered by the liquid-cooled V12 Rolls-Royce Merlin. Compared with its contemporaries it could take heavy damage and was easily repaired, which was a considerable advantage in service. The landing gear retracted inward toward the fuselage, so the wheels are clearly visible on a parked machine.
Eduard offers accessories in several ranges. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. Separate them from the carrier structure or the casting block with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and sand the traces away with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue; cement for plastic will not help here. Choose a dark gray for the tire rather than pure black, and finish the rim according to the machine you are building. Before fitting the wheels, check that the landing gear legs stand at the right angle — otherwise the model will not sit level on its base.
