Plastic kit of the British fighter aircraft Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc in 1:72 scale, issued under the name Aces with markings of aircraft flown by well-known pilots.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane was the first British monoplane fighter with retractable landing gear, and during the Battle of Britain it shot down more aircraft than any other type. The Mk.IIc version differs from earlier aircraft in its armament, which consisted of four 20 mm cannons in the wing instead of a battery of machine guns. Power came from a supercharged V-12 engine. The Hurricane served on most fronts, from the night defense of the British Isles to North Africa and the Far East.
This is an unassembled, unpainted injection-molded plastic model intended to be glued. The package includes instructions and a decal sheet; the Aces release offers markings tied to well-known fighter pilots. The model is a kit for a modeler with basic experience, not an easy-build toy.
Clean the parts of mold seams before gluing and check the fit of the cockpit — in a small scale, any inaccuracy shows up in how the canopy sits. The rear fuselage of the Hurricane had fabric covering over a tubular framework, which is worth reflecting in the final surface treatment so it doesn't look like smooth metal. Apply decals over a gloss surface and use a decal softener.
A good choice for collectors of British fighters and for modelers assembling a range of Battle of Britain and later-war aircraft. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
