A masking set for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk.V in 1:72 scale. The pieces are cut to shape and are stuck onto the model before spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was a British fighter from the end of the Second World War, developed from the Typhoon. A thinner wing improved its performance at greater heights over its predecessor, and at low level it was among the fastest piston aircraft of its day. It was powered by a Napier Sabre engine in the H layout. It proved itself among other things in chasing down V-1 flying bombs.
Masking pieces for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk.V in 1:72 scale. They are cut to shape, so the long-winded cutting out of strips of adhesive tape falls away and the framing of the glazing comes out the same on both sides of the model. Which areas the set covers and which kit it is cut for are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
The masks are stuck on before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface. Lift the piece off its backing sheet with tweezers, lay it in place and press it down, above all along the edges: where air gets in, paint will flow in too. Apply several thin coats, because a heavy coat tears as the mask comes off and leaves a step at the edge. Take the mask off shortly after spraying, while the paint is fresh, and pull it at an angle over itself, not straight up. Wipe off any remaining adhesive with a cloth damped in water.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
