This injection-molded plastic kit from UM in 1:72 scale represents the German S.Sp type heavy armored railway car in its infantry configuration. The set holds plastic parts for the armored body of the car plus extra photo-etched parts.
S.Sp heavy armored railway cars were built from 1944 and could run on their own as well as marshalled into a train. The infantry variant was intended for carrying infantry and for committing them to battle; it was fitted with firing ports and machine gun armament and complemented the artillery and anti-aircraft cars of the same series. These vehicles saw use in the fighting in the Balkans at the end of the Second World War.
Give attention to seating the armored body and to fitting the running bogies. Railway cars come into their own in a diorama with track. Use liquid cement on the plastic; we recommend a primer, an airbrush and weathering with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
