A plastic kit from AZ model capturing the projected late He 162C version in 1:72 scale. The set contains injection-molded plastic parts and decals; the C version represents a more advanced form of the He 162 fighter with a swept wing layout and a V-tail.
The Heinkel He 162, nicknamed Salamander and also Volksjäger, meaning people's fighter, was a German single-engine jet fighter developed in the very last months of the Second World War. It came about in an extremely short time as a machine that was cheap and easy to produce, with the engine mounted above the fuselage. The He 162C version belonged to the planned late modifications with a reworked wing and tail surfaces, but it stayed at the project stage and never reached series production or combat service.
Dry-fit the parts, glue with thin cement for plastic and mask the canopy before varnishing. Mottled camouflage is typical of late-war German aircraft; spray with an airbrush, apply a primer and settle the decals onto gloss varnish. Given the nature of the real subject, this is partly a reconstruction of an unfinished project.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
