A colored base for a model made of an acrylic plate 3 mm thick with the motif of the rear aircraft lift of the aircraft carrier HMS Victorious, size 280 x 180 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
HMS Victorious was a British aircraft carrier that served from the Second World War and went through an extensive rebuild in the 1950s. The aircraft lift at the rear of the deck connected the flight deck with the hangar and whole aircraft were lowered on it, so its platform, its frames and its walking surfaces are among the most characteristic places of the deck. The motif of the base captures precisely the area of the rear lift as it was in the mid-1960s.
It is a colored base for a model made of an acrylic plate 3 mm thick. The plate measures 280 x 180 mm and weighs 170 g, so it holds its shape and does not warp. The motif is prepared in 1:72 scale, that is for models of a matching size.
The base is not assembled or glued in any way. You stand a finished model on it and get a setting that fills out the surroundings and draws the look of a display case together. It serves well for photography too, because a colored surface replaces a vague background and the model appears settled in space on it. Clean the surface with a soft dry cloth and do not sand it, so that the gloss is not lost. If the model stands on the base permanently, consider fine pads under the wheels or the landing gear legs so that the surface is not rubbed.
It will be appreciated by modelers who display models of carrier aircraft and want to stand them on a setting matching a deck, and by those who photograph models. The model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
