The printed seat with belts 1:72 IAR.80/81 Pilots Seat w/ Seatbelts from IBG models replaces the pilot's seat of the Romanian fighter in the period from June 1941 to mid-1943.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains the pilot's seat with the harness rendered as part of a single printed piece. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement part for the cockpit. The belts are exactly why it is worth having: in 1:72 scale making them from foil or photo-etch is slow work, and a printed seat carries them straight away with the right amount of sag. The version matches the period from June 1941 to mid-1943, because the equipment changed over the course of operations.
The IAR 80 was designed in Brasov as a home-grown answer to the need for a modern fighter and built on experience with licensed production. It was a cantilever monoplane with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear which held its own against contemporary opponents in the first years of operations. The derived IAR 81 adapted the design to attacks on ground targets. Both types served on the Eastern Front and later in the defense of their own territory.
Cut the seat from the supports with a scalpel, smooth the flats and dry-fit it in the cockpit tub. Paint the belts in a different shade from the seat shell and touch the buckles with a metal tone on the tip of the brush, since the contrast does more than any further detail. Lay a dark base under the shell and run an almost dry brush along the edges. Finally tie the whole thing together with a flat clear so that the belts read as fabric rather than plastic.
Only the printed part itself is enclosed, with no further accessories.
