Peewit 1:72 Ilyushin Il-10 masking set

Precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks for models of the Soviet Ilyushin Il-10 attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. The masks are die-cut from masking film and follow the frames of the glazing of the pilot's and the gunner's positions. It is not a paint or a kit but an accessory that makes clean spraying easier.

The real subject

The Ilyushin Il-10 was a Soviet single-engine attack aircraft (Shturmovik), the successor to the famous Il-2 at the end of the Second World War. It was marked by armor around the fuselage and heavy armament for attacks on ground targets; after the war it served with a number of friendly air forces. The long glazed canopy with its divided frames is one of the places where shaped masks save a great deal of work.

Use and tips

• Lift the mask with tweezers and seat it precisely on the frame of the glazing.
• Press the edges down thoroughly so that paint cannot run underneath.
• Sequence: first the interior color, then the upper camouflage shade.
• Remove the masks soon after the paint has dried.

Who the set is for

• Builders of Soviet attack aircraft.
• Modelers who want sharp glazing frames without hand-cut tape.
• Those who value a quick and clean spraying result.

The set contains only masking film, not paint, glue or the model itself.
