1:72 Jagdtiger

The real subject

The Jagdtiger was the heaviest German tank destroyer of the Second World War. It was built on the lengthened chassis of the Tiger II heavy tank, where instead of a rotating turret it carried a fixed armored superstructure with a 12.8 cm gun. A barrel 55 calibers long gave the weapon penetration that no other machine then entering production could match. The price was a combat weight of around seventy tons, which strained the powertrain and the suspension and limited movement over bridges and in soft ground. Only a few dozen were built and they went into action in the last phase of the war.

What you get

This is a finished model, not a kit. It is assembled and surface-finished, so you need no glue, no paints and no tools. The 1:72 scale means it fits even a smaller display case and matches other equipment of the same scale, with which it can be built up into a collection or into a scene with soldiers and vehicles.

Placement and care

Stand the model on a level surface out of direct sunlight, which shifts the shade of the paint over the long term. Wipe dust away with a soft brush or a blower, and use no solvents or aggressive cleaners on the surface. When carrying it, lift the model by the hull, never by the gun barrel, the exhausts or the small accessories on the armor, because those are the parts that break off finished models most easily.

Who it is for

It suits a collector who wants to fill a display case quickly and without building, and also a modeler looking for a reference piece alongside work in progress. Unless stated otherwise, the model itself is supplied without a base, without a display case and without additional accessories.
