This set is not an airplane kit but a collection of fine photo-etched parts that raise the detail of a plastic model of the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen fighter in 1:72 scale. Metal photo-etch offers a sharper and more true-to-scale rendering of the features that injection-molded plastic cannot capture exactly.
The Saab JAS-39 Gripen is a single-engine fourth-generation multirole combat aircraft with a delta wing and canards. It stands out for its agility, its ability to operate from short and improvised strips and its low operating costs. It serves with the Swedish Air Force and with a number of other operators.
Nip the parts from the fret, clean them up and bend them with a photo-etch bender. The small flat parts can be glued with super glue, and on larger areas a two-part epoxy helps as well. Tie them in with the model in color once the base coat has been laid down.
This is a photo-etched add-on set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
