This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat version of the Japanese Mitsubishi F-2B fighter in 1:72 scale from FineMolds. It is a limited edition with special decals for the Veer Guardian 2023 exercise. The kit offers a finely engraved surface, a well worked out two-seat cockpit and underwing stores. The F-2B version is the two-seat combat trainer counterpart of the single-seat F-2A and you can recognize it by the lengthened canopy with two seats.
The Mitsubishi F-2 is a Japanese multirole fighter developed together with the American side on the basis of the F-16 Fighting Falcon design. Compared with its ancestor it has a larger wing, a reworked airframe and Japanese avionics and armament. It serves with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). Veer Guardian 2023 was a joint Japanese-German air exercise, to which the special color and decal treatment of this box refers.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. In 1:72 scale the parts are small - equip and shade the two-seat cockpit before you close the fuselage and mask the glazing. Paint the stores separately and fit them only after the finish is on. Bring the characteristic blue-gray Japanese camouflage to life with gentle panel shading by airbrush. Run a gloss coat over the surface before the decals; a matte coat evens the surface out at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
